At work last week, we held a unique bridal shower for our coworker, Teresa, who is getting married on August 12th. We called it a Bridal Brunch, just so that the male participants didn’t feel too out of place.
The Bridal Shower
A fellow coworker, Rachelle, was the event coordinator of the day, and she completely nailed it! Check out a few of these pictures:
Both Rachelle and I are Cricut-ers (that’s now a word!) and on top of all the decor and supplies she brought in for the bridal shower, she also found time to cut the cute diamonds that she put on the mini-muffins and powdered donuts.
For my part, I created the Bride To Be banner – yes, it’s in black with sugar skulls on it – and the 8×10 Bridal Brunch sign.
The Banner
This banner was so much fun to make! It was a first for me, but super simple to create it in Design Space. I actually just copied the black background parts from another project and added the text to fit the individual pieces.
The sugar skulls were a different story, however. First I tried to cut them, so the black would be showing through the white. Sadly they were butchered and a complete disaster. So I switched gears and put the Pen function to work and had the Cricut draw the faces of the sugar skulls. That worked like a charm.
The Sign
Another first for me – surprisingly! I applied white Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) to black cardstock for this one.
Rachelle found the inspiration image that showed 2 donuts in place of the hearts, and the phrase said ‘it’s a Birthday Brunch’, so you can see where I made some changes.
I love the way this turned out!
